Mohair Turban

Pour ce nouveau projet, je suis partie d'une photo d'un produit en vente chez Des petits hauts (merci Pinterest!), et par un détour chanceux chez Emmaüs, où j'ai trouvé deux pelotes de laine mohair pour 1€!! C'est donc à partir de la photo que j'ai réalisé le patron suivant. Je suis ravie du résultat, ce bonnet/turban est très doux à porter et change beaucoup des bonnets habituels!

For this new project, I started with a picture of a product sold over at Des petits hauts (thanks Pinterest!), and after a lucky find at my local charity shop, where I found 2 skeins of mohair wool for 1€! So from the picture I designed the following pattern. I am so pleased with the result, this hat/turban is very soft and it's a bit different from any other hat you see usually!

Laine utilisée: 1 1/2 de laine Phildar Dedicace 006, (=75g/238m), 75% acrylique, 20% Mohair, 5% Laine, couleur blanche, tricotée avec des aiguilles 3mm

Echantillon: 10x10cm = 40m.x40rangs (échantillon avec le point côte en point de riz)

Explications:

Les explications conviennent pour un tour de tête de 58 cm, ce que je considère comme une petite taille adulte. Pour un tour de tête plus grand, je conseille de tricoter une bande plus longue, voire éventuellement d'élargir la bande. Pour ce faire, faites bien attention à monter un nombre de maille en multiple de 4+3. Par exemple ici : 4x9+3=39 mailles / 4x10+3=43m. / 4*11+3= 47m., etc.

Ce turban est tricoté en une longue bande qui est ensuite cousue pour donner la forme finale.

Monter 39 mailles.
Rang 1: Tricoter 3m.end., *1m.env., 3m.end.*, *Répéter jusqu'à la fin du rang*
Rang2: 1m.end., *1m.env., 3m.end.*, *Répéter jusqu'au 2 dernières mailles du rang*, 1m.env., 1m.end.

Répétez ces deux rangs jusqu'à obtenir une longueur totale de 105cm et rabbatez vos mailles.

Enroulez la bande suivant les explications sur les photos ci-dessous et placez des épingles afin de tenir le turban en place.
A l'aide d'une aiguille à laine et du fil de votre laine, coudre les rebords ensembles.

Les lignes bleu et jeune vous indique comment plier votre bande. Coudre en suivant les lignes rouge.
Right/Droite: Here is how it should look once you've placed the pins in order to begin sewing. Sew along red lines (front)
Une fois les épingles placées, voilà à quoi cela doit ressembler. Coudre en suivant les lignes rouges (avant)

Yarn used: 1.5 skeins of "Phildar Dedicace 006 in White (75g/260 yards), 75% Acrylic, 20% Mohair, 5% Wool with 3mm/US 2.5 needles.

Gauge: 10x10cm / 4x4 in. (approx.) - 40sts.x40rows (in seeded rib stich, see following instructions)

Pattern:

This pattern was made for an adult small size hat (head circumference:58cm). If you want to do it for a bigger sized head, my advice is to knit a longer strip, or even to make the strip larger. To do so, be careful to always choose a number of stitches that multiplies by 4 +3. For example here: 4x9+3=39 stitches/ 4x10+3=43sts. / 4*11+3= 47sts, etc.

This turban is knitted in a long strip, which is then sewed together to give it its final form.

Cast on 39 stitches.
Row 1: K3, *P1, K3*, *Repeat until end of row*
Row 2: K1, *P1, K3*, *Repeat until last 2 stitches*, P1, K1.

Repeat these two rows until the total length equals 105 cm / 41 in.

Warp the strip of wool following the instructions on the pictures above and below and place pins in order to secure the shape of the turban.
With a tapestry needle and your yarn, sew the edges together.

Back/Arrière: Sew the sides of the strip along the red lines and sew both ends of the strip along the blue lines.
Coudre les côtés de la bande en suivant les lignes rouges et coudre les deux bouts (début et fin de la bande) suivant les lignes bleues.

Et voilà, vous n'avez plus qu'à aller affronter le grand froid avec style!
